Roger COULON Brut Millésime Blanc de Noirs
Vintage Blanc de Noirs from old ungrafted vines
2013, 50% Pinot Noir, 50% Pinot Meunier
This vintage Blanc de Noirs Champagne is something very special. The grapes originate from sandy soils of a single plot called "Les Linguettes" with old vines already planted in 1959. These ols wines are ungrafted which express the original character of this terroir. Only grapes of exceptional maturity are used in this vintage cuvee blended from equal parts of Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir. 8 years ageing on the lees. Extra-brut dosage of 3g/l.
Aromas of crisp golden orchard fruit, mirabelle plum, clear honey, freshly baked bread and buttery pasty, it's medium to full-bodied, pillowy and layered, with superb intensity without weight, racy acids and an attractive pinpoint mousse. Concluding with a long, intensely saline finish.
