Rare grape varieties

The three grape varieties of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier are most widely used in Champagne. There are however some rare and almost forgotten old grape varieties still in existence within the Champagne region which include Pinot Gris (Fromenteau), Petit Meslier, Arbanne and Pinot Blanc. The rare selection makes up less than 1% of total production.
